Dr. Jignesh P. Patel
Prof. (Dr) Jignesh P. Patel has been working as Professor and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department at Vidush Somany Institute of Technology and Research (www.vsitr.ac.in), a constituent institute of Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya, under the aegis of Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal. Before joining this institute, he worked for U. V. Patel College of Engineering-Ganpat University as Associate Professor & Head in Mechatronics Engineering Department at from August-1999 to June-2019. He also acted as Vice-Principal at UVPCE-GNU. He was also a Chairman, Board of Studies for Mechatronics Engineering at GNU and Member, BOS for Mechatronics Engineering Gujarat Technological University. He completed his Ph.D. (Mechanical Engineering) from Ganpat University, Mehsana with Bearing fault detection through vibration as major domain for research. He completed Post-Graduation with specialisation in CAD-CAM from Gujarat University and Graduation in Mechanical engineering from L. E. College Morbi, Shaushtra University.
He has 21 years of teaching experience and 4 years industrial experience. He has guided more than Twenty Projects at UG level and Fourteen Dissertations at PG level. He has published/presented 15 research papers in international & national journals & conferences. He has delivered expert lectures at the various institutes. He was jury in conferences and project competitions in reputed institutes of Gujarat. He has delivered numerous expert talks at various institutes. He has organised national faculty level development programmes on “Automations”.
He was pioneer and leader to develop Mechatronics Department from scratch at UVPCE-GNU. Under his leadership Mechatronics branch got accreditation from NBA. Bosch-Rexroth Excellence centre of “Automation” was established and successfully run under his guidance. He has done several MOU’s with industries as with Mechanical and Mechtronics dept. of GNU. His subjects of interest are Kinematics and Dynamics of Machines, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems, Fluid Mechanics and Machines, Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Control Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Optimisation. He has also involved in various co-curricular activities like Training and Placement, Sport & Culture, Alumni Association, Tracking and Transportation at University level.
